We are located in between Haleakala National Park and Poli Poli State Park in Kula. At Maui Bird House we love everything about birds. Every day we learn about conservation and how to create an optimal habitat for our feathered friends. We currently have over 8 varieties of birds that call Maui Bird House home. Join us as we share a glimpse into a Bird’s Life at Maui Bird House. Mahalo!
Aloha! My name is Noelle and I will be sharing with you a little bit about my afternoon birding at Maui Bird House. Enjoy!
Today I watched as the Java Sparrow and House Finch flew onto the railing of the upstairs balcony at Maui Bird House. Down in the lower field I saw Zebra Doves, Myna Birds and Cardinals. I was on the hunt for endemic birds of Maui. Did they exist any longer? I continued my birding, gazing at the beautiful birds perched, basking in the glory of the sun’s rays as they ate to their heart’s content. I delighted in the flutter of their wings and rejoiced in the sound of their songs. To my surprise these birds seemed to be friends. Familiar flocks. I am curious and ready to learn. I’d like to study their behavior.
